Why You Don’t Need an Awning: Your Options

This might seem like a counterintuitive thing for us as a business to be writing. But in the spirit of helping each other, we’d like to tell you why you don’t need an awning and how you have other options to shade your home.

So here are some quick reasons you might not need an awning:
  •  You live in an area that doesn’t have a lot of sunshine.
  • You have trees surrounding your property which provides shade for your home or office.
  • Your home is located in an area that is shaded by other buildings or structures.
  • Your home is not suited for the installation of an awning structure.
We don’t arbitrarily recommend installing awnings. In fact, it’s important that you sit down with a professional who can look at your home and advise you properly. Not all homes are made for awnings and not all homes need them. In fact, it’s important to understand your home’s dimensions, size, and frame. This will give you a better idea of what kind of shade structure you need.
If a traditional awning is not suitable for your needs, you have other options. Here are few things you can install in place of an awning:
  •  Drop screens
  • Pergolas
  • Skylights
  • Shade sails
  • Canopies

You can install drop screens at your business or office for extra shade and protection from sunlight. Remember, your local awning shop provides more than just your standard awning. Shade structures come in a variety of types and sizes to suit the needs of your project, home, or office. So contact your awning professional and ask about the other options available.
