A spear awning is a shade structure that does not have sides and instead utilize spears that are made from wrought iron or other materials to anchor the awning to the building. Spear awning technically don’t have sides made of fabric and are more decorative than a standard awning.

Finials are attractive elements also known as a hip-knob. Finials mark the top of a spear and can be designed with various shapes and sizes. Finials can be pointy, round, or customized.
